The Heavy Duty IP66 Series is a market-leading industrial actuator distinguished by its massive stroke capability. While standard actuators limit you to 30 or 40 inches, this series offers off-the-shelf stroke lengths up to 60 inches (5 feet). This unique extended reach makes it the only viable "Plug & Play" solution for large-scale applications such as tilting extensive solar arrays, lifting heavy marine engine hatches, or deploying long-range robotic arms.
Engineered for the elements, the unit is sealed to an IP66 rating, protecting the internal components from dust ingress and high-pressure water jets. Driven by a quiet, high-efficiency Worm Gear system, it delivers a steady 200 lbs of force, ensuring that even at full 60-inch extension, motion remains smooth and stable.
System Design Notes
Installation: The unit features universal clevis mounting points compatible with MB3 Brackets, allowing for quick-release installation. Limit switches are internal and factory-preset to protect the actuator at full extension and retraction.
Back-Drive Protection: While the worm gear offers resistance, heavy static loads may induce back-drive when power is cut. For vertical applications, we recommend integrating a SPDT Relay Back-EMF Brake or a gas spring assist. See our Back-Drive Prevention Tutorial for engineering details.
