The Heavy Duty Industrial Series Actuator is engineered for high-load applications that demand uncompromising durability. Utilizing a robust Worm Gear Drive mechanism, this series offers superior efficiency and whisper-quiet operation compared to standard spur-gear alternatives. The internal worm gear architecture also provides inherent static holding capability, reducing back-drive susceptibility under load.
Available in three force configurations—200 lbs, 400 lbs, and 1000 lbs—this actuator is the standard for OEMs requiring substantial push/pull power in a compact 12V DC package. The unit features an aluminum alloy housing to minimize weight without sacrificing structural integrity, and internal limit switches to protect the mechanism at full extension and retraction.
System Design & Integration
Installation: Designed for rapid deployment, the Heavy Duty Series utilizes a 2-wire interface for simple polarity-reversal control. Mounting is streamlined via MB3 or MB3U brackets with quick-release pins.
Back-Drive Protection: While the worm gear provides resistance, heavy static loads may induce back-drive when power is cut. For safety-critical vertical applications, we recommend integrating a SPDT Relay Back-EMF Brake or a gas spring assist. See our Back-Drive Prevention Tutorial for engineering details.
